Life Saving Statistics

The method we use in order to come up with our statistics actually reflects our goal, which is to keep healthy and treatable cats and kittens alive and help them to find safe places to live. With that in mind, we simply add up the number of cats we have dealt with, whether from safe trapping, the local shelter, or other avenues, and have them spayed or neutered, transferred to new forever homes, our foster program or rescue. We subtract from that number the number of cats which passed away, and figure the percentage of lives we have  saved.

In 2016, we rescued 63 community cats in East County, including one that passed away during surgery, for a total of 98.5% lives saved. So far, in the year 2017, we have saved 48 community cats, and of those one passed away, for a total of 98% lives saved.

Since we started our new kitten program in June of 2017, we have rescued 90 kittens from the streets. Every one of them has survived, for a total of 100% lives saved.

Overall, we have a 99% live release rate.
